Commons columnist given cold shoulder

Anonymous columnists seem to be all the rage these days.

The latest mystery writer appears to be the imaginatively titled “Bill Blanko” on The Guardian’s online site. His speciality is gossip and intrigue from the bars at the House of Commons. But the idea has not gone down well with some of the hacks who frequent Westminster’s many watering holes.

“The last thing you want is someone eavesdropping when you’re slagging off colleagues,” said one thirsty hack.
