Over at The Guardian, editors are still patting themselves on the back over their recent scoop about Gordon Brownâ€™s talks with Sir Menzies Campbell over whether senior Lib Dems could join Brownâ€™s first Cabinet.

Those, like Axegrinder, who look closely at these things, couldnâ€™t help wondering why the byline was by A Staff Reporter.

I am happy to say the hack that came up with this incredible scoop was the well-connected Patrick Wintour, the paperâ€™s political editor.
