Hacks flock to join Newland of Arabia

Since breaking news that ex-Telegraph editor Martin Newland is setting up a newspaper for the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi, Press Gazette has been inundated with coy requests from journalists asking for Newlandâ€™s contact details.

Mumâ€™s the word, but letâ€™s just say that staff at the Evening Standard and Daily Mirror should be suspicious if the person sitting next to them starts browsing an Arabic phrasebook.

A number of casualties from rounds of News International and Telegraph redundancies are also known to be interested.
