Until recently, it seemed it was mainly the Daily Mail that had scooped up former Telegraph employees who had left in the wake of the new management under the Barclay Brothers.

However, I can now disclose that former Daily Telegraph managing editor Sue Ryan has found a berth at the Evening Standard.

“She is standing in for Doug Wills, the managing editor, who had a rather nasty bicycle accident shortly before the relaunch of the paper and is recovering at the moment,” I’m reliably informed.

Sue, whose husband is Jon Ryan, sports editor of the Sunday Telegraph, joins David Lucas, former Daily Telegraph night editor who is also on the Standard.

“It all goes around and around,” said one observer.
