I’ve seen the future of journalism – and it’s furry.

Mansfield 103.2 FM has come up with the genius idea of recruiting ferret namesakes for everyone at the station and racing them to raise money for charity.

An event held at Rainworth Miners Welfare in Nottinghamshire was attended by more than 150 local people. Ferret first prize went to Jodie Henshaw, who runs the station’s news department.
With journalism staff currently flagging, perhaps it is time for ferrets to take up the slack across the country.

They take up little space, require no money and could be great at ferreting out stories.
