At Kamal Ahmed’s leaving party at the Clerkenwell Kitchen last week, outgoing Observer editor Roger Alton read a funny letter Ahmed once drafted and hoped his editor would sign, pleading with the authorities to get him off a speeding ticket. What we don’t know was whether Alton agreed to send it off.
After the late-night party that ended up at Exmouth Market, Ahmed, who is leaving to join the Equality and Human Rights Commission, showed up at work the next day in a T-shirt with the slogan “I LOVE PRINT†on the front.
Was this a last-minute two-fingers to the Guardianistas who are obsessed with the web?
