Restaurant critic Giles Coren’s infamous attack on Times subs for having the cheek to change his copy has inspired this hilarious parody on You Tube.
It makes use of a clip from the 2004 German movie Downfall, about the last days of Adolf Hitler, but adds fresh subtitles to turn it into a scene where the chief sub reviews the previous day’s subbing … including Coren’s famous use of the word “nosh”.
The film appears to be the work of someone calling himself “shandypockets”. He explains the film thus: “Just another day at the Times…and the previous day’s subbing is nervously assessed…Â I was bored and ill, so I made this…I’m just jumping on the parody bandwagon for this clip.”
