Channel 4 Gazza cock-up definitely not unseen

Channel 4 broadcast a Dispatches documentary on Thursday night called Unseen Gaza, in which Jon Snow looked at how journalists were unable to report both sides of the conflict because they weren’t allowed in.

But, as various eagle-eyed viewers reported on Twitter, the on-screen caption (warning of graphic, bloody images to follow) that appeared after each commercial break hinted that perhaps the programme was about a rather famous, wayward Geordie ex-footballer.

A source close to the programme admitted that “some foolish fool left their finger on the ‘z’ for too long”.

A Channel 4 spokesman told Axegrinder: “We’re sorry a mistake was made and hope it didn’t detract from what was a blistering account of the way the conflict in Gaza has been covered.”
