Diamond Jubilee Weekend, day two - Big Jubilee Lunch and River Pageant

Prince Harry and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also attend. Also today, a network of 2,012 beacons is lit by communities and individuals throughout the UK, with The Queen lighting the National Beacon.

ICC seeking transfer of Saif al Islam Gaddafi - prosecution arguments

International Criminal Court Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo presents the prosecution's observations to the Pre-Trial Chamber on an admissability challenge filed by Libya on May 1. The challenge relates to the ICC's case against Muammar Gaddafi's son and presumed successor Saif al Islam Gaddafi, who has been indicted by the ICC for crimes against humanity. Libya has refused to hand Gaddafi over to the ICC, arguing that he should be tried in a domestic court.

Bradley Manning charged over WikiLeaks - pre-trial hearing

Hearing takes place in the case of Private First Class Bradley Manning, who faces multiple charges relating to WikiLeaks. Manning was formally arraigned on February 23. A full court martial is scheduled to begin on September 21. The charges against Manning are: aiding the enemy (defined by the prosecution as Al-Qaeda); wrongfully causing intelligence to be published on the internet knowing that it is accessible to the enemy; theft of public property or records; transmitting defense information; fraud and related activity in connection with computers; and violating Army Regulations. Spectator publisher charged with breaching reporting restrictions over Stephen Lawrence article - court hearing

The Spectator (1828) Ltd appears charged with a breach of reporting restrictions during the trial of the killers of Stephen Lawrence. It is alleged that an article published in the magazine and written by Rod Liddle breached an Order under Section 82 of the Criminal Justice Act 2003 which prohibited publication of certain assertions about the defendants. Spectator editor Fraser Nelson has said that the magazine will not contest prosecution of the offence, which carries a maximum fine of £5,000.
