Time-pressed, cash-strapped journalists might be interested in an interview with David Remnick, editor of The New Yorker in Israeli newspaper, Haaretz.
Remnick reveals that writers on the New Yorker staff — most of them salaried members of the editorial board and not freelances — may at times work on a single article for six months. And they earn very handsome salaries. “But I expect good in-depth work for the good pay,” he says.
