An Irish Sunday Mirror journalist was acquitted of ten counts of forgery after filling her own prescription, signing it with a “squiggle” and presenting it to five different pharmacists.

Naomi McElroy said her editor read an article in a medical journal that anyone can fill in a prescription pad and get one from the printers; she was merely chasing the story.

Dublin circuit criminal court acquitted her of forgery last week after her counsel argued that she had not tried to replicate any particular person.

Did no one think to tell pint sized popstar Prince, formerly known as “squiggle”, of this?
