According to one BBC insider, Ben Metcalfe, the soon-to-be-launched BBC Editors’ Blog has exclusive new details on the identity of the man who BBC News 24 accidentally interviewed last week in place of technology journalist Guy Kewney.

The man, identified as one Guy Goma by the Mail on Sunday, was not, as previously reported, the taxi driver who dropped Kewney at Television Centre. In fact, the editors’ blog — and now the main news site — the business and economics graduate from the Congo was visiting the Beeb for a job interview. It seems Goma assumed the on-air questions were part of the selection process.

According to Kewney, we can expect more details on the bizarre situation in tomorrow’s Daily Mail.
The BBC-wide editors’ weblog, announced by News Interactive editor Pete Clifton in January, is currently being tested internally at the BBC in anticiption of a launch Matcalfe says may be next week.
