Don’t let sleeping Dogs lie

Dog has not had much of a bark over the last few weeks. That’s because those of us in the Old Bailey kennel have been busy preparing a new place to discuss journalism issues arising in our pages.

Head over to the snappily-titled /discuss Journalism to debate whether Alan Rusbridger is insane to give away Guardian stories free online or whether Martin Sorrell was right to damn free content.

Does blogging puts reporters’ impartiality at risk? We want to know what you think.

Most top journalists are posh, a study showed last week. Does it matter?
There’s a discussion about Goverment plans to bar reporters from coroners’ inquests, and one about whether £75,000 in libel damages is a reasonable sum — even for Gordon Ramsey.
But this doesn’t mean Dog is being put down. Don’t banish Dog from your RSS newsreaders just yet …

£75,000 just about covers dinner and a good bottle of wine in Gordon Ramsay.
