The message you got from me on Twitter was automatically generated by a feature that I installed on my (personal) blog.

The Twitter Updater plugin for WordPress automatically sends a message to Twitter alerting your followers that you have updated your blog.

It’s another example of how the service can be used fin ways other than the one for which it was originally conceived.

Good little round up there Martin. You’re absolutely right when you say it’s what Twitter does and not what’s being done with it that is the really interesting thing.

But would you really want to subscribe to any of the newsfeeds that currently exist on Twitter? I wouldn’t.

And it’s not just John Kerry in on the act. Deputy PM wannabe Alan Johnson is twittering,

BTW - I think tweet is the preferred verb, but like you I like Twitter. Oh and I believe Guido thought Twitter would be a good/free way for him to keep in touch with his Poker playing buddies, but you’ll have to confirm that with him :)
