To whom is the value apparent?

Certainly some news sites that include comments show that they have idiots for readers. BBC, on the other hand, keep comments apart from news stories and online broadcasts. I am a big fan of the Wiki -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fighting_Talk -- and Facebook pages for Fighting Talk -- http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/programmes/fightingtalk.shtml -- but it's hard to find a place to comment or read others pov on BBC.

I left a message on have your say suggesting that the West should offer help to get her out of Pakistan - when she was put under house arrest -in an attempt to help - as it looked like a potentially life - threatening situation to me. Sadly it wasn't published. Since her assassinsation I've often wondered why my message wasn't considered suitable to publish.
