Public want “more news and sport” on bbc.co.uk homepage

James Price, editor of the BBC homepage, writes that over 3,000 people have responded to his call for feedback on the beta (test-phase) version of the site. Look for yourself here.
Among the things they said were:
- that they wanted more news and sports headlines and weather higher up the page (”above the fold” in web jargon),
- that the main image on the homepage was too big and
- that the homepage was used too much as an advert for BBC content
