Information Commissioner rejects two complaints… about his own office

The Information Commissioner Richard Thomas has rejected two Freedom of Information Act complaints about request about his own staff, as the BBC’s Martin Rosenbaum points out.

One request asked for the salaries of the top five earners in the Information Comissioner’s Office and another asked for the post codes of all ICO employees.

The office disclosed the salary bands but witheld the exact figures while only the first part of staff post codes were given out (both were rejected under section 40 - personal information).

Press Gazette this week reported that the ICO has a backlog of more than 1300 complaints that are yet to receive a reply.
