Ridley’s TV show axed by “sexist boss”, tribunal told

Broadcaster Yvonne Ridley has told an employment tribunal how she was forced from her job by a “sexist boss”, reports Metro.

Ridley said Agenda, her current affairs show on the Islam Channel, was axed after a series of rows with boss Mohammed Ali. She also claimed that Ali and other bosses launched “a campaign of jealousy and intimidation” against her.

Ridley is suing the channel for sex and religious discrimination and constructive dismissal. Ali claimed that her show was axed because Ridley broke regulator Ofcom’s rules by not being politically balanced. The tribunal, in London, continues.
