Former Observer editor Roger Alton is the new star sposrts columnist of monthly men’s magazine GQ.
He appears in March’s issue, out today - his second role since leaving The Observer in January, after being signed up as a sports columnist for The Spectator.
The column is not online, so you will have to spend £3.80 to have a read. Briefly though, Alton mentions Jeff Miller from Chicago who picked up a Coach Potato of the Year awards for watching 40.5 hours of TV a week.
“I don’t want to pour rain on Jeff’s parade,” he writes, “but isn’t 40-odd hours, well, just a bit lightweight?”
