Should journalists accept honours?

Veteran Question Time host David Dimbleby has asked whether journalists are sacrificing their impartiality when they accept honours.
Responding to the claims in today’s Sunday Telegraph Mandrake column, Sir Trevor McDonald says: “I felt very conflicted when I was offered the knighthood.”
The column says Channel 4 News presenter Jon Snow turned down an OBE in 2000, fearing it would have an effect on his journalistic integrity.
