The BBC is to send 150 staff to cover the Beijing Olympics this summer, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The plan which will cost £1 million, has been criticised by John Whittingdale, the chairman of the Commons sport select committee, who said it undermined the commitment to efficiency at the corporation.
