Former Mirror Group chief executive David Montgomery’s European newspaper publishing company, Mecom, has announced a management reshuffle (PDF), with former Mirror colleague John Allwood becoming group finance director and Keith Allen appointed chief operating officer.
Allwood was Mirror Group finance director from 1992 to 1999, in the lead-up to its merger with Trinity. He joined the Telegraph Media Group as managing director in 2004 before moving to Mecom last year.
Montgomery, Mecom’s executive chairman, said: “After a period of rapid growth and the acquisition over two years of businesses in five countries, Mecom’s focus now is on developing and strengthening its position as a major European regional newspaper publishing group and content business.
