News Corp offloads stake in pay TV provider

News Corp has been given the green light by the US Federal Communications Commission to hand over its 40 per cent stake in subscription TV network DirecTV to Liberty Media.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the FCC approval is the last regulatory hurdle for the deal, which has taken more than a year to close.
