Newbury Weekly News launches local business website

The Newbury Weekly News has announced announcement of the launch of NewburyBusinessToday, a business news website.

The site’s sister title in print, Newbury Business News, has been renamed to highlight the connection between the online and print products.

The NWN’s launch follows a spate of new online regional business launches in the past few months.

There is now an independent specialist business site for Yorkshire, TheBusinessDesk.co.uk. The major newspaper groups have also been active in this area.

Trinity Mirror launched Business7 in Scotland, and the Liverpool Daily Post has launched LDPbusiness.co.uk.

Northcliffe Media, meanwhile, has launched the first of a series of regional business portals with WestBusiness.co.uk, covering the for the Westcountry. Similar sites for the East Midlands and South West are expected to follow.
