ITV is halving its team of regional managing directors and reducing their remit to news, reports Broadcast magazine.
Ten managers will fight it out for five new posts which will focus on news rather than all regional operations. Regional news staff are expected to be next to be hit by the regional cutbacks at the broadcaster.
