- Microsoft is reported to be “seriously reconsidering” its £21bn bid for Yahoo and concerned about the search giant’s valuation. The Daily Telegraph claims Microsoft could reduce its offer or pull out.
- The FT looks at the Huffington Post’s role in reporting the US presidential election race.
- The search for an audience for web-based television is gathering pace, with Joost, Babelgum and Blinkx all competing for online eyeballs, says the FT.
- But web TV provider Joost is reported to be scrapping plans to expand outside the US, after it attracted fewer big-name broadcasting clients than it had predicted, according to the Sunday Times.
- Fox Interactive Media, the division of News Corp that includes MySpace, is expected to miss its $1bn online advertising target this year, according to the FT.
- The Independent follows a day in the life of AOL Europe chief executive Dana Dunne
- Web experts are warning that the growing popularity of YouTube, the BBC iPlayer and other bandwidth-hungry services could bring the internet to a grinding halt, according to the Guardian.
