Mirror Group Newspapers will begin reporting monthly website traffic statistics through ABCe when March data is released this Thursday.
The group will report a combined figure for the websites of the Mirror.co.uk, SundayMirror.co.uk, People.co.uk, DailyRecord.co.uk and SundayMail.co.uk. Also included will be a number of fantasy football, bingo and classified advertising sites associated with the titles.
The move leaves only Northern & Shell’s Express and Star titles and Independent.co.uk as the only national newspaper websites that do not report sever-centric website statistics each month.
FT.com publishes ABCe figures, but only on an annual basis.
Last August, Revolution magazine reported that Independent.co.uk was planning to begin reporting its figures, but none have been published so far.
Last week, a report from web metrics firm Hitwise suggested that Independent.co.uk had doubled its market share among national newspaper sites over the past year, and dramatically increased its traffic from search engines.
Update: The group’s first ABCe report shows it had 4.4 milliion unique users in March (PDF).
