New multimedia head for Trinity Mirror regionals

Trinity Mirror’s regional newspaper division has appointed David Higgerson as its head of multimedia.

Higgerson is currently assistant editor (digital) of the Liverpool Daily Post and Liverpool Echo.

He will begin his new role in June and report to editorial director Neil Benson.

Benson said “David has led several highly impressive multimedia innovations, including the Post’s successful crowdsourcing project.”

Higgerson replaces Mike Hill, who left the position in March to become editor of the South Wales Echo.
