RBI considers web traffic bonuses for journalists

Reed Business Information has considered paying online journalists on the basis of the pageviews they generated for their websites, Journalism.co.uk reports from the PPA conference.
RBI managing director Jim Muttram told the site that if implemented, journalists would take lower basic salary combined with a bonus.
Incisive media managing director of digital strategy John Barnes, meanwhile, noted that the company has experimented with performance-based pay for journalists’ blogs.
