ITV’s director of regions and network news is reported to be pressing ahead with a timeframe for making regional news cuts, even though the proposal has not been approved by Ofcom.
According to MediaGuardian.co.uk, Mike Jermey has told staff at the affected centres that they will have to reapply for jobs in September.
ITV has asked Ofcom for permission to reduce the merge news regions and cut jobs to save about £40m a year.
