The Department for Culture, Media and Sport is considering giving Channel 4 a stake in the BBC’s profit-making commercial arm, BBC Worldwide, as a solution to its funding shortfall.
According to MediaGuardian.co.uk, the idea has risen up the agenda again after it was first mooted in February.
Under the proposal, C4 would take a share of BBC Worldwide’s profits. It not clear what the BBC will get in return.
