Ofcom has extended the deadline for submissions to its wide-ranging investigation into the BBC’s local online video plans.
The regulator is carrying out a market impact assessment into the proposed move, which will look into what effect it will have on commercial rivals, including regional newspapers.
The BBC is looking to create a network of local online news services across 60 regions, with each site providing up to 10 daily video packages. The deadline for submissions is now 4 August.
