Eights jobs are to go at the Daily Mirror in the latest round of cost-cutting from Trinity Mirror, The Guardian reports.

Deputy news editor, forward planner, picture editor and foreign editor are among the posts said to be under threat. The individuals said to be involved include: foreign editor Mark Ellis, forward planner Jane Kerr, head of pictures Ian Down, picture editor Greg Bennett, acting news editor Euan Stretch and acting deputy news editor Barry Rabbetts.

The loss of the post of foreign editor would be seen as a particularly tough blow to the paper’s prestige.
