MP: ITV Wales political staff told to reapply for jobs

Journalists working at the ITV Wales political unit have been told they have to reapply for their jobs, according to a local MP.

Dai Davies has added his name to a long list of critics of ITV’s plans to scale back its regional news and political programming. He told Wales Online he was “profoundly concerned about the effect this will have on coverage of politics for the people of Wales”.

He added: “This is a profoundly backward step which will have a serious effect on how the people of Wales are properly informed.”
