ITV wanted Jeff Randall as business pundit: report

Daily Telegraph editor-at-large Jeff Randall turned down an approach by ITV to appear on its news programmes as a business pundit.

According to the Independent, ITV was keen to hire Randall to give the BBC’s Robert Peston a run for his money. An insider tells the paper: “We were looking for a big-hitter to comment on the big stories and Jeff was an obvious person to approach.”
