Guardian launches Arab-language newswire service

Guardian News and Media is to launch an Arab-language newswire in the new year, providing translated versions of Guardian and Observer stories to media outlets in the Middle East.
According to Media Week, the publisher has teamed up with Saudi newspaper Al Sharq, which will translate the stories and distribute them.
GNM managing director Tim Brooks ruled out further launches next year, but said more international expansion might come in 2010.
