Journalists at consumer and B2B magazine publisher Haymarket have had access to Facebook and MySpace removed.
In a memo seen by Press Gazette, Haymarket’s IT director wrote: “We have made the decision to continue blocking My Space and Facebook…later this week we will review the situation and decide whether it is right to open connection to the blocked sites.
“We understand that social networking sites in general are used as a way of contacting clients and maintaining relationships, and we will remove the block as soon as we are satisfied that the associated risks have been mitigated to a reasonable level.”
A Haymarket journalist said staff were “extremely pissed off” at the block.
