Twitter enjoys ten-fold increase in web traffic

Web metrics company hitwise reveals that “micro-blogging” service Twitter has increase ten-fold over the last ten months - making it the 291st most visited website in the UK.
HItwise points out that because many Twitter users access it via their mobile phones - the real popularity could be even higher.

At time of writing www.pressgazette.co.uk has 781 followers on Twitter.
