Trinity Mirror has signed a deal with online tecnology company Pluck to use its SiteLife social media tools across its national and regional news websites.

Trinity Mirror group director of digital publishing David Black said: “By giving social media tools such as user comments, ratings and user profiles a key role on our websites, we will be creating an enhanced experience for our audience, who know they can rely on us to offer the best ways to discuss the most pertinent issues of the day.”

Other news organisations using Pluck technology include Guardian News and Media, Sky News, USA Today and Reuters.

The SiteLife tools enable readers to more easily form discussion groups, comment on stories, create blogs, write reviews and share photos and videos.
