MP: I do not trust journalists with my expenses receipts

Austin Mitchell, the Labour MP for Great Grimsby, says many of the journalists poring over MPs’ unredacted expenses receipts don’t understand the system.
“Our private expenses are now in the hands of journalists whom I wouldn’t trust not to flog them. We are in the lap of sods,” he writes in today’s Independent.
“Now the story has passed from the Telegraph to a less intelligent rank of journalists who are using it as something to throw back in all our faces because they don’t understand it.”
