US Congress looks to block libel tourism

The US Congress is considering a bill that would allow Americans who are sued for libel in a foreign court to counter-sue for up to three times the damages claimed if their First Amendment right to freedom of speech is found to have been violated, according to the Sunday Times.
A number of states have already moved to block so-called “libel tourism” claims brought against US nationals in foreign courts.
