BBC Midlands Today presenter Ashley Blake has been dropped from a police crime prevention film after being found guilty of hitting a teenager with a wooden pole.
The newsreader was commissioned by Staffordshire Police to appear in a DVD explaining the criminal justice system to victims of crime and witnesses.
According to the Birmingham Post, Blake was paid £900 for the video but the force has decided to axe him after he was found guilty of unlawful wounding earlier this month.
Blake is due to face an internal disciplinary hearing at the BBC this week however the presenter has already said he expects to be given the sack.
