Tributes are being paid to journalist, polemicist, atheist and left-wing campaigner Christopher Hitchens - who died last night.

Newsquest Young Reporter scheme gives students a taste of the newsroom

Newsquest newspapers in South London have launched a  scheme which has provided over 600 students at 70 South England schools with journalism training and an opportunity to get published.

The students are taught how to research, write, adhere to deadlines and upload their stories on the newspapers websites and take work experience in a newsroom. (more…)

Nick Davies: ‘Delusional’ to think new evidence would have changed outcome for NoW

Guardian journalist Nick Davies refused to yield to demands for an apology from former New of the World staff at a Sky News debate today.

The Guardian reported on 4 July this year that the News of the World had hacked the voicemail messages of missing schoolgirl Milly Dowler. But it has now made an amendment to that story stating: (more…)
